In the field of a red background a niche topped by a pentagon, enclosed flat, set off by means of a white band which does not touch the border; the band is decorated with small navy blue and red rhombuses and bluish green prongs on the edges. In the niche top a polygonal navy blue cartouche, above which there is a geometric form with the motif of arrows. In the central section of the field a large white rectangle with a cross form in the middle, outlined with a few rows hooks making up a mesh, surrounded by four navy blue triangles with hooks on the sides (smaller in the upper part). Between the lower triangles a large rosette. Beneath, in two rows: a flattened octagon and two rosettes on the sides, below which there are three hooked rhombuses. In the spandrels regularly spaced rectangles, navy blue and bluish green composed of series of “double T" motifs. Along the edge of the field small varicoloured triangles, behind them a band of red-and-greenish blue prongs. We warmly invite you to become more acquainted with full description of this rug published in “Prayer Rugs Collection catalogue" by Katarzyna Połujan (Teresa Sahakian Foundation, The Royal Castle in Warsaw – Museum), Warsaw 2015.
