In the central field, on a navy blue background (with abrash) rows of varicoloured, radiant rosettes with an inscribed motif of a rhombus and cross with a starry rosette. The mihrab with a pentagonal top enclosed flat is set off by a white band of red-and-white medahyl along the edge, not touching the border, decorated with geometric, cross rosettes, alternating with Z and 7 motifs. Apart from the dominant rosettes, there are loosely scattered tiny motifs such as squares, rectangles, rosettes, and reclining S. Along the lower edge of the field a row of rosettes. Under the niche top a row of “horned" forms surmounted by an arrow, in the top section a pentagon enclosed by a triangle, with a hooked motif atop. We warmly invite you to become more acquainted with full description of this rug published in “Prayer Rugs Collection catalogue" by Katarzyna Połujan (Teresa Sahakian Foundation, The Royal Castle in Warsaw – Museum), Warsaw 2015.
