The central field divided into five sections by means of transverse bands. In the largest, central section, on a navy blue background two opposite niches with large lamps – red, topped with a triangle, of an irregular serrated outline, resting on shared columns composed of palmettes separated by octagons. In the spandrels: a strongly geometric, tangled tendril making up an irregular white mesh with varicoloured flower motifs; along the vertical edges a row of white hooks. The outermost fields of varying width; in them on a white background serrated palmettes, with a larger one along the axis. Between the central field and the side ones there are two symmetrically arranged narrow stripes outlined with bands (white and navy blue) with a geometric ornament. We warmly invite you to become more acquainted with full description of this rug published in “Prayer Rugs Collection catalogue" by Katarzyna Połujan (Teresa Sahakian Foundation, The Royal Castle in Warsaw – Museum), Warsaw 2015.
