Eastern Mail Shirt (Persia?, Caucasus?, Rus'?, Balkans?), 17th–18th century

Mail shirt with a lace-up collar, constructed using riveted rings in a 4-in-1 weave pattern (each ring interlinked with four others). The rings are of varying thicknesses and made from riveted iron wire. Three distinct types of rings can be identified in the construction. The sleeves extend to the elbows. The collar features two tongue-like extensions, characteristic of Eastern-style mail. The mail is in good condition overall, with only minor losses of rings.
