One of 22 views of Warsaw painted by Bellotto for the Senators’ Antechamber (known as the Canaletto Room) at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The painting is listed in the 1795 catalogue of the Stanisław August collection under no. 424: “Vue de Willanow prise de Belvedere". Red number 424 of Stanisław August collection alongside red number 4572 of Russian Imperial collection bottom right (the latter was added in 1832, in St. Petersburg, after being removed to Russia as part of the repressions following the November Uprising).
