Toasting goblet with the Order of the White Eagle

Crystal Glass Glasshouse in Naliboki (Naliboki ; 1722-1862) (manufacture)

The glassware was bequeathed to the Royal Castle by Tadeusz Wierzejski in 1974.
The bowl is engraved with heart-shaped shields; the ornamental cypher AR and a shield divided into five fields with the coats of arms of the Crown, Lithuania and Saxony as well as the Order of the White Eagle and the Star of the Order, with the motto Pro/ Fide Rege/ et Lege.
The goblet was most probably made to commemorate the award of the Order of the White Eagle to Michał Kazimierz “Rybeńko" Radziwiłł in 1727; at that time, he was Equerry of Lithuania, Court Marshal of Lithuania, and subsequently Lithuanian Great Hetman, son of Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł and Anna née Sanguszko.
