The cast under discussion was made at the Fonderia Nelli, one of the most popular foundries active at that time in Rome with which Rygier collaborated on many occasions. The bust was purchased by Andrzej Ciechanowiecki from the Teodor Rygier estate on the antiques market in Rome in the 1960s, in 1986 donated by him to ZKW. [Artur Badach]
