One of 22 views of Warsaw painted by Bellotto for the Senators’ Antechamber (known as the Canaletto Room) at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The painting is listed in the 1795 catalogue of the Stanisław August collection under no. 429: “Vue de Willanow". Red number 4579 of Russian Imperial collection bottom right (added in 1832, in St Petersburg, following the removal of the painting to Russia as part of the repressions following the November Uprising).
