Portrait in stone oval shown against stone blocks on a pedestal, and cartouche with the coat of arms of France surmounted by a crown ornamented with eagle wings. Depicted hip height, facing 3 right, wearing short curled wig with bow, frock coat, half armour with ermine-lined cloak embroidered with French lilies, which spills outside the oval frame onto the pedestal. The engraving is a pendant to the portrait of Maria Leszczyńska made earlier in 1728 by Laurent Cars. Inscribed on rim: LUDOVICUS XV. FRANCIA ET NAVARRA REX. Anno Domini M.DCC.XXXV. Signed: bottom left: Vanloo Pinx. Publisher’s address bottom right: a Paris chez Cars Pere et Fils Graveur rue S.t Jacques a vis le College du Plessis.
